The standard 6.4-liter HEMI V-8 engine generates up to 410 horsepower and 429 pound-feet of torque, delivering strong performance for everyday tasks. For greater towing capacity, the available 6.7-liter Cummins high-output turbo diesel I-6 produces 430 horsepower and class-leading 1,075 pound-feet of torque. Both engines pair with a new eight-speed automatic transmission that features an electronic column shifter and supports improved efficiency through its rear-axle ratio. While the diesel powertrain is available on most trims, the Power Wagon comes exclusively with the HEMI V-8 to optimize its off-road performance capabilities.

When equipped with the Cummins diesel engine, the Ram 2500 achieves a maximum towing capacity of 36,610 pounds. The 6.4-liter HEMI V-8 configuration has a maximum towing capacity of 17,730 pounds, and the payload capacity reaches up to 4,440 pounds. Towing capacity varies between 15,620 and 20,000 pounds depending on configuration. The 2025 model also has improved acceleration from previous years, completing the 0-60 mph sprint in 6.9 seconds.

Every Ram 2500 includes integrated voice commands, USB ports, and Apple CarPlay and Google Android Auto compatibility. The Uconnect 5 system features an 8.4-inch touch screen display, with available 12-inch and 14.4-inch screens available in higher trims. Higher trim levels add premium touches such as leather seating with real wood and aluminum accents. Practical features include dual wireless phone charging and a powerful 2.4-kilowatt on-board power inverter on select trims. The comfortable interior accommodates three to six passengers depending on configuration, and improved sound insulation creates a quieter cabin experience.
